Chances are they won't be powering the unit for more than a few hours, if at all. I just wanted to make sure if anything failed in transit that they'd at least see a light on the enclosure and would be able to swap the drive if necessary. Sounds like that's the case as they are on Intel Macs. Thanks.</p>]]></content:encoded>

I work in video post production, where we often have to send large disk arrays to other companies etc. If I send a RAID5 volume (Sabrent enclosure) to a third party who doesn't have the actual SoftRAID app installed, I understand that the Mac OS has a driver onboard which would still allow them to read / write to it. But what happens if one of the disks fails? Will they be notified at all (beyond perhaps a red light on the array)? If they swap the failed disk would it rebuild?</p>]]></content:encoded>
