A RAID 4 can be converted to RAID 0, but that is by removing a disk, not to increase the size.

You will have to delete the volume, then recreate it as a RAID 0.

What if you reversed your process? Use the RAID 5 for primary data, then back up to the RAID 0? It means you have somewhat less space for data, so more archiving, but it will eliminate the backup hassles.

Hi All, I'm a newb to SR with little technical knowledge but have used large amounts of storage (for my video/photo business around 160 T's with back up) for many years. On one of my systems I'm currently running a RAID 5 backup on a RAID 0 server. This is causing a number of problems because one has 48T of space the other 42 so the backup fills up faster causing a jam. I want to switch the RAID 5 backup to a RAID 0. I have run SoftRAID Lite on the drive system and validated it. How do I convert it from RAID 5 to RAID 0? Thanks.
