Your volume is rebuilding, then will be marked as in sync and perfectly fine. This did not damage the disks and once rebuilt, the volume will be fine.

If you ever want to check a volume's "parity" data, use SoftRAID to "validate volume" and it will make sure all the disks contain up to date data.]]></content:encoded>

When i reinserted them and booted it up it came up as "degraded" and started "rebuilding". The blue icon on the top of my screen is also yellow. All disks lists as "no errors". Is there any risk to my disks?]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[Just finished a project where i used 4 x 6TB disks in a RAID 1+0 which amounted to 2 x 12TB mirrored disks. Now i would like to liberate 2 of the disks to use in a new RAID, while keeping a working copy of my old project.

But if i remove one set of my disks the two remaining will not mount.

Is this even possible? Removing a set of disks and keep the last set?


I´m using a Thunderbay 4 on an iMac with 4x6TB in a RAID 1+0]]></content:encoded>
