I just created a RAID 5 apfs volume and it creates a volume "covering" the whole volume.

To add another volume, (I want both to adjust their sizes as necessary). I went into the disk utility

and created the new volume under the container.

I could not figure out a way to do this via softRAID.

So far everything seems to be working just fine. The only "issue" is that in softRAID only the first volume shows up.

If there is a better way, please let me know!

Thanks!

We do not support this and I do not think Disk Utility supports SoftRAID APFS volumes correctly. (to create a volume inside a container)

Best is just create 2 "hard" volumes for now. This is one of the features that will be supported in a 6.0 when we do the UI changes. You are ahead of the curve for now.
