I've read that this can not be done directly. But I am wondering, in my Thunderbay 4, I currently have 2 x 8tb in a RAID1. I have two more 8tb drives.

I guess I could create a RAID 0 with the two new drives. Make an additional backup of the RAID 1. And then reuse the former RAID1 drives to convert the RAID0 to RAID 1+0.

Is there any reason this won't work? Or is there any easier way to get from RAID 1 to RAID 1+0?

Thanks
