Do you get a thermometer in the volumes tile? Yes it's read/write and no, there's no thermometer. However, I did successfully start the validation this morning. Here's how: I'm running a 2 disk USB-based RAID 1 and last week upgraded to SoftRAID and added a Thunderbay with 2 RAID 5 volumes, External and Memories. I shutdown my system, powered off my USB drives and booted. When I initiated validation on Memories, it started and is still running.
