<p>The SoftRAID driver does not perform the actual reads/writes, it points OS X to the disk and macOS performs the actual writes. This is for compatibility purposes.</p>]]></content:encoded>

<p>Its also possible that there is a bug in running in non admin mode, we used to have issues in OSX, but I thought we flushed those out in the 10.4 days. SoftRAID should work in non admin mode just fine, as long as you give permissions.</p>
<p>Full Disk access is required however, so please add it. Else the application will have issues performing tasks, as the Application cannot talk to raw disks.</p>
<p>You can try the command line: softraidtool help and see if it works. We left some command line functions, even we state it is not available, its easier if some commands work.</p>

<p>20 minutes is a short time for the app to quit. Most users who see this, it takes at least a day or more to happen. I do not know what the trigger is, however.</p>]]></content:encoded>

<p>I don't see SoftRAID in the Security &amp; Privacy &gt; Privacy &gt; Full Disk Access panel.  Maybe that's because the app just talks to something else in the background and it doesn't need disk access.</p>]]></content:encoded>
