I bought the OWC Mercury Elite Pro Quad RAID and set up a RAID 5 using SoftRAID on my Mac. However, I work on a PC workstation and when I plug the RAID into my PC, it won't pop up on explorer as a drive. Instead, I only see the separate drives when I need to safely remove them.
On my Mac, the RAID shows up as one drive, so it's working properly there.
Does anyone know how to navigate software RAIDs on a PC? Is this fixable or do I need to return the product?
We do not yet have support for RAID 5 on Windows.
It is coming this year, probably in the next couple months, but I do not have a date. It will work fine as RAID 1, RAID 0, or as a set of independent disks in the meantime.
@softraid-support Thank you for responding. I redid the RAID so it's now RAID 0 and it still doesn't show on my pc. On disk management, I see them as 4 different drives, but I can't even assign a letter to it. Do I need a specific software on my pc to be able to see the RAID?
Did you install SoftRAID for windows? If so, the volume should mount automatically.

Any update on support for RAID 5 and 1+0 support in Windows? Not many months left in 2021... 🤨
Its hard to predict technical Software like this, but I still think we may hit end of year. RAID 5 for Windows has to be 100% solid, as user data is stored on these volumes, hence no shortcuts!
If not RAID5 at least RAID10 would be nice. I would l think it is a bit less technical than getting RAID5 working.
I think RAID 10 is after RAID 4/5. They are coming.
RAID 5 is what most users want, so it has highest priority.
