I hope that I'm not in the wrong place, but I didn't see a 1+0 forum. I've been using Thunderbays from OWC for various things including backup from my dedicated fast external hardware RAID. I was thinking that using a full 4 drive bay for a RAID 1+0 backup might be preferable with 4 8TB drives, to using larger drives for mirrors. Especially when on a beta version of SoftRAID instead of my non-functional licensed version, I was wondering: Is this a good use for a RAID 1+0? Is it safe enough for backup? Is it really almost as fast as a RAID 5? Is it relatively easy to restore? It is 2 drive redundancy, right? Frankly, I haven't had to think about this in a while. Just need a little help and reassurance. Thanks.
