I'm using SoftRaid 5.8.4 with two RAID 4 arrays, on which I store SQL databases. Unfortunately, every week or so, my Mac Pro (2020) shuts down due to a kernel panic when running time-consuming queries. Per the crash report, the trace points to the SoftRaid kernel extension (see below). Is this a bug in the driver? Or what can I do to avoid this problem?

The Support file shows the OS version.

These are two Thunderbay 8's?

Daisy chained? or on separate buses?

Nothing stands out at first look

Since I do not see it here, I need to help to try to give engineering a chance to reproduce it.

What kind of IO activity is going on? Small random files?

If you set the SoftRAID disk Preferences, to "submit IO's one at a time" do the panics still happen?

thanks!

Several hours of repeatedly reading and writing small to medium files (10MB ~ 1GB).
I haven't set "submit IO's one at a time" but I can try that and report back, if helpful.
