Hi.

I'm happily running 6.1 on "Big Sur" 11.6.1. I get a message to "upgrade to 6.2" and follow the instructions. This leads to an install of "SoftRAID 6.2" under /Applications. The instructions then say "Double click the "SoftRAID 6.2.app" and follow the instuctions." Okay. Do that and I get an error message "There is already another copy of SoftRAID running on your Mac. Please quit this copy. Then click on the SoftRAID icon in the Dock to use the other copy of the SoftRAID application."

For starters, this is a fail as an "upgrade" as it stands. And that's okay. I have looked for more detailed procedures and haven't been able to find any in the documentation. So, if someone can take me though what it means to "quit this copy" and how to do this upgrade, I'll be a happy camper.

Thanks .. mark.

The message is referring to the SoftRAID application. Before launching 6.2, quit the other version (6.1).

the launch it, install / update the driver. I recommend you "Allow" OWC in System Preferences/Security before restarting, it is easiest.

@softraid-support Thank you! All good (it was a bad day yesterday, sorry for my snarky tone).

I assume it is okay to delete the old SoftRAID app folders?

No problem. Yes, you can delete any older folders.
