I'd like to see SoftRAID support push notifications, especially for long running operations like volume validation. It would also be nice if the notification could indicate whether the operation succeeded or failed.

We do have email notification, which can email your phone, if that is what you want.
On the Windows side, email notification is coming with the next update.
We do not give notifications on "progress" of a validate or certify, however. I can understand why you might, but its a lot of code for minimal customer requirement.
