Hi.

I'm in the process to build up a new raid0 Thunderbolt2 solution.

Like using Akitio Thunder2 Quad Mini + 2 Samsung EVO SSD 1tb + 2 Seagate 5400rpm mechanical 4tb.

Is it possibile to create a RAID0 10tb total disk with Softraid Lite or not?

Any issue? Problem you see in this solution?

Best to create a RAID0 all with 4 Seagate 4tb disk?

You can mix SSD and HDD's. But when you create a volume, the smallest disk determines the total volume size, as all partitions are the same size in RAID.

If you want a large volume, yes it is best to use all 4TB drives.

Thanks a lot for answering. I'm looking for an Akitio Quad Mini with four 4tb 2.5" drive.

Do you think I can make two 8tb RAID0 partition? And use one for Time Machine and the other for Archive and make the backup?

I don't need best performance on the two partitions I already own a thunderbolt ssd RAID.

Hi.

Sorry for my late response I'm in the decision process.

Can I make a Raid0 in the aikitio with 2 ssd disk and add another 2 2tb disks in the future to the raid0 without destroy the raid0 ssd but by adding two new drive to it?

You cannot add disks to a RAID 0. We do support adding two disks, by converting it to a RAID 1+0 (mirror plus stripe), but we do not support increasing the size of a volume by adding disks.

To make a larger RAID 0, you need to backup, and recreate the volume.
