The subject iPad’s have the ability to connect to external media.

Will they be able to read/write to a SoftRaid-configured array?

Is anyone already doing this?

We saw that ability in the keynote and want to support this, but it is not available yet. I am not sure what level of drivers Apple will allow installed in IOS. It may take until after the "driver kits" are published.

@softraid-support

Thanks for the quick reply.

I am trying to differentiate between configuring/monitoring an array and simply reading/writing. It is my understanding, and I may be incorrect, that I can normally r/w on an array even if the driver isn't installed on macOS. But I confess I'm not 100% confident of file system compatibility either.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any clarification, and for working this. It seems like a rather exciting possibility.

All intel MacOS installations have a SoftRAID driver included. It cannot notify, may be somewhat slower, but will mount your volumes.

IOS is a different species altogether.
