I have a Thunderbay6 running SoftRaid XT (full). I had a difficult enough time certifying all my 16TB drives the first time around, so I ordered a 7th drive with the intent of certifying it and placing it in storage in the event the one of my RAID drives fails. I bought a cheap enclosure to be able to perform the certify, forgetting that SoftRAID XT only works on OWC enclosures. Now I'm stuck with a drive with no way of certifying it for emergencies. What are my options, if any? Could I download the 30 Trial of SoftRaid Lite for the purpose of certifying the drive? Would that work?

Yes, you can run SoftRAID trial mode to do this.
