OWS Thunderbay version vs Retail

Hi,

I'm looking at purchasing an OWS Thunderbay but oddly the price difference between just the caddy and the one with the bundled version of SoftRAID seems to be about the same price as buying the software separately.

I assume that the full retail version purchased directly will still work with the Thunderbay - is it as simple to setup?

Thanks

Scott

the price difference is broadly half the cost of SoftRAID.

The two products are about the same, the only difference is the Thunderbay version only manages disks inside the Thunderbay.

There is an upgrade available for $99 to SoftRAID retail.

Thanks for the clarification... broadening my horizons will the full version support the Silverstone TS433-TB - http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=664&area=en

It looks to be broadly the same thing but I've had good experience with the brand in the past.

Thanks

Scott

SoftRAID will support all reliable hardware that shows up as "disk" devices in OS X.
