Hi All,

I am a new user of SoftRAID. Two day ago I made an attempt to certify a new out of- the-box 2 TB WD Red drive. At about 1 TB on the first pass I had a certification failure with 4 errors. I attempted to certify this same drive again. This time it passed certification. What might be going on with this drive?

Thank you in advance.

Without seeing the actual errors, do not know.

It could have been a connection issue, the disks ejecting from the bus, or a disk error.

If the disks passed a certify, though, they had to be reliable for that pass. So they can be put into service. Certify is a great test of your systems reliability overall but a disk is not the only thing that can cause a certify failure.
