@softraid-support Ok. This is the #1 reason I ordered my MacBook Pro when I did. I wanted to be sure to get one that still had Catalina on it. Do you have an estimate of when you'll have something that works in Big Sur? (no need to support APFS - just something that works with existing HFS+ RAIDs in Big Sur).

I wish I did, but we do not have a running version yet, so I cannot estimate how far it would be from release, whether imminent, or whether it would take deeper testing. Sorry!

Will a 1+0 RAID be recognized in Big Sur and run without monitoring? If something fails, will monitoring detect it after re-hooking it to a 10.14 or 10.15 system?

Yes and Yes. (Once we get the SoftRAID app running!)

We have added auto rebuilding to the Big Sur default driver. If you hook your disks to an older OS, yes, they will mount as normal etc.

@softraid-support So if I hook my current ThunderBay 4 16TB (1+0) to Big Sur Beta 9, what happens? Will it damage any data and just not be seen?

There is a driver built into big sur, so your volume will still mount.

@softraid-support And the built-in driver can read/write to a 1+0 16TB RAID?

What do I lose with the built in driver in Big Sur? Do I only lose error monitoring and rebuilding?

It should work the same as 5.8.4, except function with Big Sur. email does not work, which we know, but you can create APFS volumes. There are release notes in the documentation folder.
