When did you purchase your last enclosure?

@prl99

2015 will hae an upgrade cost.

Same with retail SoftRAID purchases.

Free upgrades are to all Thunderbay enclosure bundles since around June 20 2020.

With regards to activation, we do not prevent volumes from mounting, ever. You can much more easily activate/deactivate using SoftRAID now, without restarting. (the SoftRAID or Monitor menu's)

@dfortney

There is an occasional check for dual licenses, then we can alert you about this. But in no case will SoftRAID prevent you from accessing your volume.

@softraid-support I was able to upgrade from SoftRAID 5 XT to SoftRAID 6 XT for no charge since I’m running an OWC product that came with XT when I bought it.

@prl99

It is timing, if you had bought over a year ago, it would be a charge upgrade. Thanks!

Every time I launch 6.0.1 it prompts me for my admin password and reinstalls the driver although it shows the driver 6.0.1 is already installed. How do I fix this?

EDIT: I seldom post without an edit.

@rexbinary

The problem is the beta driver is still loaded, I suspect.

Try running the lat beta you had, and "uninstall SoftRAID"

restart and install 6.0.1 again. Does this fix this?

Upgraded to 6 after deleting all the betas, seems to work fine.  I just wish it wasn't so expensive forced upgrade.  I was perfectly happy with 5.

@softraid-support Unfortunately I already deleted the beta installers, and I'm not sure which one I was running anyway. Is there a different way to do this?

uninstall SoftRAID (utilities menu)

restart.

look in /Library/Extensions and /Library/StagedExtensions.

Is there a SoftRAID driver in either one?

@softraid-support Sorry for the delayed response. There are no SoftRAID files directly in those folders, but there is within subfolders. Please see attachment.
