Raid drive does not mount, until user logs in

Our Raid drive does not mount automatically until a user logs in to the GUI.  I can SSH into the server and run

diskutil mount /dev/disk6

and it mounts.

How do I make it so the drive mounts automatically as computer starts?

Running Monterey 12.6.1.  Was running SoftRaid 6.0 and just updated to SoftRaid 6.3 today, but the issue persists.

We have a preference in SoftRAID volumes tab. "mount volumes when user not logged in". Try that.

Awesome, that worked.  What changes does that make to the system or drive under the hood? Asking because I tried adding the drive to /etc/fstab and that did not work. Thanks.

@fveja

I do not remember. We added this about 10 years ago. ;-)

I think it is a parameter in macOS.

This would be beneficial to understand, if it is possible for you to find out.

Thank you!

@fveja

I did find out this code was put in 14 years ago, but no one remembers exactly what was done. Sorry.
