Mojave with a Library file on a separate SoftRAID 5.7 array

The ! on your icon means you haev not install the SoftRAID driver on your system, so it is using the default driver we license to Apple (Limited version). Run 5.7 and install the driver, and this will go away.

As to your library files, I don't really know. I am not an expert on this. Perhaps the Apple discussion forums?

the fact that this is a SoftRAID vs Apple volume does not matter for this issue. It is not relevant.

I have a 5,1 MacPro that has a PCI disk with the system software on it and a RAID volume with all,documents etc on it.

I’ve been using SoftRAID Without any issues until I downloaded Mojave. I had already updated to SoftRAID 5.7.

Now when I startup I get the opening Mojave desktop with a sticky window telling me I cannot access the Library file on my RAID volume, and a prompt to input my password. I do but it refuses to take it.
Cannot seem to fix it.

The RAID volume icon has an exclamation mark on it.

Any ideas?

I've experienced some odd bugs with scripts when running my home directory on a different drive. Not sure if this is the setup you have. For me the solution was to run the home directory from the main system drive and create hard links in terminal ( ln -s /path/to/source /path/to/target ) pointing to my documents, photos, music, games, etc. The user Library I left on the boot drive. (my boot drive is a 500GB SSD.)

There are two separate issues:
The ! means you have to run 5.7.2 and install the full driver. At present, you are running the "Default" version used with OS X installs, which does not rebuild, report errors, etc.
(update to 5.7.2, always keep SoftRAID drivers up to date)

Is this the /Library, ~/Library, or /usr/Library folder you are referring to?
Mojave may be locking down startup volume Library locations, but the Applications and usr directories should be movable to alternate volumes.
