Hi,
I have a dual boot Mac Pro 5.1 where I created a RAID 1 setup with 2 drives using the El Capitan volume and Softraid Lite 5 and I have a Mountain Lion startup volume too. The El Capitan startup disk/volume has failed and I want to access the RAID 1 drives via the Mountain Lion startup disk/volume now.
At present I do not have Softraid installed on the Mountain Lion startup drive, so my question is can I install the latest version of Softraid 5 on the Mountain Lion disk/volume and will this then give me access to the RAID 1 volume or is this not possible?
I don't want to install /upgrade El Capitan on what is currently the Mountain Lion disk either for other legacy software compatibility issues. I am also unsure which version of 5 I created the RAID 1 disks with on the now failed El Capitan startup drive.
Thanks,
Michael
Yes you can install on all your systems. We have a "one at a time license". Your volume will auto mount.
There are no compatibility issues.
