hi,

we have an owc thunderbay 4 drive, with 4 8tb hard disks.

one hard disk suddenly disappeared, so I replaced it with a new disk.

I'm not 100% sure about the next step:

- I initialized it
- in the right area of the window I see the status "Raid 5 - degraded - missing disk"
- because of raid 5 we can still normally access the files
- do I now go to "add disk" and add the new disk or
- do I need before this step go to "remove missing disk" - if I use this command, of course nothing happens with the files on the working raid 5?

many thanks

ferdinand

Just initialize the new disk and "Add disk". hte volume needs to be a healthy read/write, which I am assuming it is.
