Until recently SoftRaid Lite 5.5 seemed to be working fine running OSX 10.11.4 on a MacPro (Late 2013). Then I noticed that the SoftRaid Lite icon in the menu bar was grey rather than blue. I launched SoftRaid Lite and saw that almost all menu commands are greyed out. I upgraded to OSX 10.11.5. No change. I uninstalled SoftRaid Lite and reinstalled and re-entered serial number, so drivers should now be updated and not overwritten by OSX 10.11. No change. I've converted my Raid drive to SoftRaid from AppleRaid. No change. Any advice please.

If you have the charcoal interface in OS X, then the icon will be gray.

Most menu commands will be grayed out unless you select an appropriate disk/volume for a task.

For example if you select a volume, you can validate. If you select a disk you can verify it. Is this the case?

Ah yes. I can Validate under Volume menu. No options available though under the Disk menu for any disks. Checking the SoftRaid log, the last "Finished SMART test" message is April 29 when I was running 5.1.1. Are SMART checks run in 5.5 without adding a note to the Log? I think everything seemed more logical and comfort-giving when I was running 5.1.1.

If you select a disk tile, you should be able to see initialize disk, certify, zero disk and blink disk light. Otherwise they are gray when no options are selected.

Is the SoftRAID Monitor running? the blue light in the menu bar?

I see now. Yes I've changed the System Settings Appearance from Graphite to Blue so the menu bar icon is now a dull blue. So I assume everything is OK despite there being no log entries for SMART checks – and imagining that one day if there's any problem that the icon will be red. Living in hope. Thanks for your help.
