Setup:
- Ventura 1321, m1 mini
- Thunderbay 8&4, Softraid XT v701
After using the command to remove disks from both enclosures (Thunderbay 8 and 4), the "remove missing disks" command failed to remove the, "degraded..." warning from the volume tile, and presumably then, failed to reset the volume's list of secondary disks of both enclosures.
- Tried ejecting both raids > enclosure restart
Thanks for help
Remove missing disks "disconnects" the missing disk from the volume, so you can insert another. It also means if you put the original back, it will not be part of the RAID. But the RAID will be degraded, missing disk.
If you are not clear on this, then attach a SoftRAID support file and I can be more specific.
You haven’t answered my question; I'm not sure how to make the issue more accessible but here's a try:
1) First, I did this: I used the command to remove disks from both enclosures, two from Thunderbay 8, and one from Thunderbay 4.
2) Second, I did this: After step one above, I attempted, The "remove missing disks" command and it failed to remove the, "degraded..." warning from the volume tile, and presumably then also failed to reset the volume's list of secondary disks of both enclosures.
3) I want to: 1) Remove the, "degraded..." warning from the volume tile, and 2) Reset the volume's list of secondary disks for both enclosures.
@softraid-support I have no intention to be insensitive, however you're asking me to commit additional resources so that you can understand the situation, before you've made any apparent effort to appreciate the effort I've already made and the content already delivered to you. I'm not going to do that. Please escalate my 'support request'.
