Note: I've already emailed this issue to SoftRAID tech support, but I'm also hoping someone in the SoftRAID community has an answer. I'm in a bind.
-----
I’ve just upgraded to an iMac Pro running 10.13.2 and moved over my multiple drive enclosures containing various SoftRAID volumes (Raid 0, Raid 1, and Raid 5). I have the latest non-beta version of the SoftRAID app and driver installed (5.6.3). However, none of my volumes are mounting as SoftRAID volumes. They ARE mounting, but not as SoftRAID volumes. They are super SLOW and don’t display the proper SoftRAID icon.
When I launch the SoftRAID app (5.6.3) with SoftRAID drives attached, it asks for my permission to make changes and then proceeds to install a “new copy of the SoftRAID driver“ and rebuild the boot cache. Then, after a reboot, nothing changes. The SoftRAID app repeats this process every time it's launched while a SoftRAID drive is attached.
iMac Pro reboots don’t help. Uninstalling and re-installing SoftRAID didn't help. I've also tried attaching only one enclosure at a time with no other external devices attached.
If I reboot my iMac Pro with no SoftRAID volumes attached, and then launch the SoftRAID app, I’m asked for permission to make changes, and then the interface behaves as usual. If I then attach a SoftRAID volume (with the SoftRAID app still running), the drives appear in the SoftRAID interface as expected, however, the drives still lack the SoftRAID icon in the finder, and they are still crazy slow. If I quit and relaunch the SoftRAID app, it repeats the driver install with a reboot. It’s a never-ending cycle.
Hope this makes sense. I’m in a real pickle.
Thanks very much for your time!
