hi,
Mac os high sierra is installed on mac pro and i'm using softraid lite to manage external OWC ThunderBay 4 mini that is configured for mirroring. I'm looking to re-install high sierra. How can i backup the softraid config and restore once the OS is re-installed installed?

No need to. Your volume will work afterwards just fine.
I recommend umounting the volume, wait 30 seconds, then disconnecting before reinstalling.
If this is a clean install, keep your license number. Else, just reinstall the lastest SoftRAID driver. All will work fine.
There is no volume specific information stored in the system.
