Hi,

I have been using Softraid Lite in RAID 1 and I mistakenly downloaded and opened/ran what I thought was an update Softraid Lite, but was actually the full version of Softraid. I deleted the Softraid and reverted back to using Softraid Lite.

When I now open Lite from the icon in the toolbar it momentarily gives me the error warning with an exclamation mark and says in red:

'degraded . 2 missing secondary disks'

and then shows the normal setup for the Raid 1 setup.

It only started happening after I mistakenly opened and tried to run the full version of Softraid.

What should i do? Or is it not a problem?

Thanks in advance, Michael

SoftRAID application reports "in real time", so when you launch it, if one disk appears sooner, it may temporarily display a missing secodnary message while the other disk has not reported in.

It is not an issue.

the Lite and "full" drivers are essentially the same, so your running SoftRAID did not cause this.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Are the words 'degraded' and '2' nothing to wory about either?

The SoftRAID GUI loads disks "in real time", so if a disk that is part of a mirror or RAID volume responds before the others do, there may be a temporary message in the GUI to reflect that not all the disks are available.

The alternative to processing data as it comes in, is to have a time-out, where the SoftRAID application waits for a while, say 15 seconds, for all disks to appear before it displays the state of volumes when a disk(s) is missing. We do not believe users would be happy with this delay.

So no, it is not a problem. As long as the disks do appear after a few seconds, this was just a temporary message.
