I am trying to resize (shrink) my volume so that I can add another volume to my disks. But ever time I try and resize my volume I get the "SoftRAID Error" message (An internal part of the SoftRAID application has stopped functioning properly. Please quit SoftRAID and relaunch it.).
Any clues?
Thanks in advance.
There is a bug in resizing that is not fixed yet. Can you attach a SoftRAID tech support file and I can take a look at how to get around this for you?
Hi, thanks for the quick response. I noticed this morning that v6.2.1 was released, so I installed it (and the driver), and after allowing permissions and restarting I still was not able to resize my volume. I got the same message.
I have attached the support file after v6.2.1 failed to resize my volume. I am attempting this on my Thunderbay8.
Please advise.
6.2.1 does not fix the resize volume. Do you have a machine running 10.15 or older you can connect this enclosure to, so you can perform the resize?
Otherwise, we need to do this with a command line tool.
Hi, I do not. I would like to proceed with the terminal commands..
Please advise.
Thanks.
I'm running Catalina (10.15) and 6.2.1 doesn't work on that either.
You can run 6.0.5, however. here is a link.
Do not install the driver, just run the app, resize, then go back to 6.2.1.

I have the same issue, Monteray OS 12.2.1, and Softraid 6.2.1.
Where can I find the terminal command sequence to resize?
I am working on getting a command line fix. do you have an older macOS system anywhere?
not really. We have been running monteray for months now.
FYI I was able to resize on an old intel Mac mini I have with 6.0.5 and OS10.15. Thanks.
Thanks, unfortunately, until we fix this, that is the solution.
Its going to be a couple more days before I can get any news on this, sorry.
I'm also experiencing this issue. Is there a command line fix available yet? I'm running 6.2.1 on Monterey 12.3.
