As of MacOS 13.4, there are several kernel panics fixed. the main issue fixed that affects SoftRAID was the "dart-apciec2" kernel panic.
Connecting a RAID 5 volume could trigger the Mac to restart continuously, with the kernel panic listing the cause as dart-apciec2. This is now fixed in macOS 13.4
This applies when you are running any prior (to 13.4) version of MacOS on M1/M2 computers, and your system crashes when your RAID 5 volume is connected. If you restart, and click "report to Apple", the resultant kernel panic will start with this type of text:
panic(cpu 2 caller 0xfffffe001cce9798): "dart-apciec1 (0xfffffe233327c000): DART(DART) error: SID 1 read protect exception on read with DVA 0x80077000 (TTBR 0 SEG 0x40 PTE 0x1d) ERROR_STATUS 0x81000090 TIME 0x6ac2ab8e282 TTE 0xc1f0ac79fc001 AXI_ID 0)" Debugger message: panic
