Recently SoftRAID 6.3 randomly switches back to the free Trial Mode and a pop up message shows up. This morning I have to enter my licence information again. When I restart my Mac a couple of times, the licence remains active until 2-3 weeks.

I already submitted a tech file before and after I entered the licence. Support told me to reinstall the drive to no avail.  What can I do?

Mac Studio (2022), Apple M1 Ultra.
macOS 12.6.2
SoftRAID 6.3
It is Admin user

Did you do a "uninstall SoftRAID - all components" first, then reinstall the driver?

Yeah, that is exactly what I have done.

It's difficult to reproduce and it's getting pretty annoying.

@howdytom

I needed to ask.

I agree it is annoying, it appears something is changing, or deleting, a SoftRAID preferences file (the one with the license key).

I have no other complaints of this with SoftRAId 7. So this may be difficult to figure out.

Do you keep the SoftRAID application running? (or is it generally not running)

Did you change any preference?

No, the SoftRAID application is closed. According to Activity Monitor, SoftRAID_Monitor process is always running. I do check preferences every 2-3 months. I rarely open the SoftRAID application. Recently I changed the Version check from daily to 'Every week'. It is a fresh Monterey Installation without any previous leftovers.

It feels like SoftRAID fails to establish a connection with the licence server, something like that..

Good, there is no reason to keep the app running, as you noted.

We do not "phone home" to confirm your license. We establish it's valid when activating, then do not really check unless there is an upgrade, change, etc.

So whatever is happening is local to your system. And I do not understand it at the moment, but will research this.

Happy New Year. Unfortunately the issue still reoccurs. I did another "uninstall SoftRAID - all components" first, then reinstall the driver. I have submitted another support file before and after I entered the licence. It is Case: 01638409
