Studio Mac M4 Max - Brand new, out of the box.  Two days old.

Mac OS Sequoia 15.3.2 - Latest version via Software Update.

Mercury Elite Pro Quad - Brand new, out of the box.  Days old.

4 WD-Blue HD - 2 TB ea. - Brand new, out of the box.  Days old.

SoftRaid 8.3 - Driver 8.3 - New install on new computer.  Latest version via Software Update.

Log file attached: RWS 2025-03-25...

Had difficulty building RAID array.  Kept getting messages "Drive has disappeared" or something to that effect.  After several tries, got array to build RAID-5.

Started having crashes/panics, minutes after attempting to copy existing HDs to RAID volume.

Dismounted RAID.  Re-initialized all drives.  Re-built RAID.  Tried again.  Negative results.  Crashes occur minutes apart.  This device is completely unusable.

Unit has been disconnected, disassembled and is now sitting on the floor.

I am in migration limbo.  I can not use my new, multi-thousand dollar computer for lack of ability to transfer data from my old computer.  Old computer is off-line because the hard drives have been removed in anticipation of transferring my data.

I have to be honest.  I don't trust this thing!  If it's going to be going up and down like a yo-yo, I can't risk a decade's worth of work being destroyed by an unreliable drive.  If this problem doesn't get resolved quickly, I'll be forced to return the goods.  I'm sorry to say this but practical realities dictate.

Please help me solve this!
