Please provide the ability to create "raw" volumes. I would prefer to be ability to setup the filesystems on my RAID volumes manually after softRAID simply presents the virtual disk once the RAID set has been configured.

You can erase the volume in SoftRAID to whatever file system we support (except with APFS, they have to be created fresh.
What File System do you want? What advantage is it to you to do a file system later?
