I have an OWC Express 4M2 enclosure with Samsung 970 evo 500GB drive. I have 3 970 pro's on order. I'd like to make a raid 4 volume, and I assume the 970 evo should should be the parity drive. Will SoftRAID automatically do this, or can a select the 970 evo as the parity drive manually?

Select the 970 Manually when you create the volume.

Be sure to certify the new drives with 3 passes. Samsung Blades seem to take time to "burn in".

Dear Moderator,
Thank you for including tips like this one about Samsung M.2 burn-in. These days, few tech support organizations are staffed with technically competent people at the first level of public contact; even fewer allow those employees the intellectual freedom to do what they believe is right.
This simple comment shows that the SOFTRaid's support culture is focused on customer results/performance/satisfaction rather than covering one's tail/individual risk avoidance.
