I have 2 enclosures with 2 HDD each (2TB) - thunderbolt daisy chained.
One disk has failed (the secondary disk of mirror pair one. The primary is on the other enclosure).
I replaced it with a 3TB disk on the enclosure.
How do I prepare this disk (2 partitions of 1 TB and another 2TB?) to be the new secondary disk of mirror pair one? ( I tried a number of things for no avail)
What is the procedure step by step.
My OS X is 10.12.6.
Thanks for the help.

Backup first.
Check that all the disks remaining have "green" links, meaning the rest of the disks are not out of sync.
initialize the new disk.
(we recommend also to certify disk which will take a couple days)
"add disk" to each volume.
Let it rebuild in the background. Optimize for workstation or server to speed up the rebuild times.

Hi! Thanks.
Yet I have a doubt.
1. The new disk is 3TB and the other 3 are 2TB. Any spcial attention here?
2. How do I format the disk in order to join it (as the fourth drive in the raid) substituting the failed one? When I "add disk" I get error message saying there is no space.
Thanks again.

As long as the new disk is the same size or larger than the one it replaces.
Just initialize the new disk with SoftRAID. If it is large enough, it will show up.

I got it. I have done itBut it still says that is no room (in the raid volume) to add another disk. The new disk has been initialized but when i try to "add disk" on the raid volume it complains that there is no space for more disks. (it does not say that my new disk doesn't have enough space..rather it says that the Raid Volume itself doen not accept a new disk in substitution.
How can I delete the not anymore existent failed disk for the new one?
Thanks!

I don't think I can help you on the forum. Send a SoftRAID support file to support at softraid.
then we can tell you what you are doing wrong. It is probably something very simple
