Do I need to buy something or I just need to install it to my laptop to protect my disk.

If you are using RAID 0 or 1, SoftRAID lite lets you use it with any hardware. (external drives).
if you want RAID 5, then an OWC enclosure, or purchase Pro to use any hardware.
