Im having an odd folder access / disc permission issue - Ive been successfully using the same OLD system with close to zero issues for many years ( g4 tower running 10.4.11 & softraid 3.68) - yes I know THATS old - for what im doing its been working fine till now)   I run in "mirror mode" for a simple redundant 2 drive system for " working file storage"

my problem: suddenly there are some folders I am not allowed access to and or I can not add to over the network so I " do not have privileges "

My question is how can I run a disc utility on the mirror raid ( I get a can not unmount message ) , or is that not a thing for the raid and I should I NOT be relying

 doing that ?

thanks !

@photographerphil

this is a permissions issue, not a volumes issue. Did you set your volume as "ignore permissions on this volume"?

Or you may need to "get info" on each of the offending folders and see if you can add yourself as having read/write access.

Try that first.
