I have a non T-2 in my Mac Pro 2013, but 5.8.0 was letting me know I needed to update my driver before I used SoftRaid. Hmmmm.

It doesn't, however, tell you what to do if you do NOT have a T-2 chip. The answer is simple: Quit SoftRaid and install 5.8.1 from the website. It will install fine and then you can update the driver as previous. Restart. All good.

Maybe update the PDF so it says: if you don't have a T2 chip, just install 5.8.1 from the website.

SoftRaid 5.8.1 seems to run fine so far in Catalina.

The 5.8 release came when we first thought SIP was the main issue.

The SIP requirement was fixed in 10.15.1, and 5.8.1 removes the warning about SIP.

We figure few users would be trying to run 5.8 any longer, as we released 5.8.1 a week or so after 5.8.

Very messy, we are sorry.

We assume users are running 10.15.1 or later.

We are likely to release an additional 5.x release to fix some issues and better support some of the Catalina changes. (If Apple is not changing the Secure Boot requirement, we will need to add a "detector" in SoftRAID, so users can figure out what to do, if they have a T2 system.)
