On Catalina 10.15.3 i am seeing an occasional Softraid Volume locked message. This happens sometimes after a fresh boot and when it goes into power savings mode or once and a while when the screen saver kicks in. Any thing obvious i maybe doing wrong?
Question: When you get this message, what happens if you try to copy a small file to the volume?
I have had this happen a couple of times lately also. The first time I rebooted as per the error message. The second time I opened Softraid and no errors were showing so tried creating a temporary folder on the affected volume, and it succeeded -- contrary to the "locked" message.
There is an issue here. Can you send a SoftRAID tech support file immediately after you gt this message next time. Send it to support at softraid com

After reboot and when computer sleep, when i log back in, timemachine volume managed by soft raid is locked. If i create a file after I acknowledge the lock warning, no issues as far as i can tell. Please let me know when a fix is available. thanks.
Let me know if you see this with 5.8.2, but this is one of the issues are are going to address in the next SoftRAID update after 5.8.2
Still see in 5.8.2.
Thanks. Understanding the cause and fixing it is a high priority for the next update of SoftRAID. It may be a month or two however, but we may have a beta in as soon as 2-3 weeks. (depending on how hard it is to isolate the root cause of this)
I've had this 'volumes locked' problem ever since 5.8.3 (I'm on Mojave on MP2013). Main problem was that it was interfering with the sync with my synology NAS. The permissions on the volume (using 'get info) shows the constant 'fetching' instead of my user name. I couldn't get the NAS to link to a directory on the SR volume as it said that I didn't have access.
Done all sorts of things, finally clicked 'ignore ownership' which seems to allow the NAS to link. Fingers crossed.
Ignore Ownership should be on for this, yes. Should work!
Cheers. Okay so far.
