Converting Volumes

I currently have a Apple Raid 1 on an external case with 2 4TB drives. What is the process I would have to do to convert to SoftRaid. I don't really want to buy any additional drives.

If this is a standard HFS volume, when you run SoftRAID, it will offer to convert it for you. Else, you can use the volumes menu and "Convert".
Should be a simple process.
