Is it possible to convert a SoftRaid 0 to SoftRaid 5 volume with data intact? Conversion with data intact is preferred because my volume has my home directory but is not the boot disk and if I could convert intact that would this MUCH easier.

No it is not.
We can convert a RAID 0 to RAID 4, but only when the stripe unit size is 16k.
