@softraid-supportDownloading the new 11.3 public beta 2 as I type this...will report back with the results.
Or should I use the dev beta?
I have confirmation the Public Beta does not work. See what the build number is, the build version that does not work is: 20E5186d
@softraid-supportSame here, but my build number is 20E5186e. Bummer. Anything else that I can do to help, as far as testing goes? Any sense in trying the dev version?
Btw, I forgot, but can I then de-install the beta profile and upgrade to the official version of 11.3 when it is released, or will I have to wait until the next version after that to be back on the official release schedule?
I sure hope that Apple can get this fixed asap, as this is the only remaining reason that I have to keep my INTEL MBP 2018, at this point.
Interesting you have a different build number. When you installed, did you A) check that System Startup Security was set to allow third party?, B) did you even get the System Preference pop up dialog to go to Allow OWC?
If you did, paste the output to this terminal command also:
sudo kextload -v 6 /Library/Extensions/SoftRAID.kext
This will determine whether the driver is loadable.
"did you A) check that System Startup Security was set to allow third party?
B) did you even get the System Preference pop up dialog to go to Allow OWC?"
Good questions...I am pretty sure that I have allowed third party in System Security, but don't remember specifically whether I was asked to allow OWC at the time I installed SoftRAID.
Here is the output from your command:

This is the same issue. The driver won't load because of this bug.
Thanks. The first couple questions were because you were the first to report this. Multiple users have confirmed this now, so it is public information.
Anything else I can do to help/test, just let me know. Thanks for your quick responses!
Thanks. We all have to wait for the next 11.3 beta update.
Any word yet on the new beta 3?
Guess I'll take a swing at it and will see for myself...
Well, output is now:
till@MBAIR-2 ~ % sudo kextload -v 6 /Library/Extensions/SoftRAID.kext
Kext user-space log filter changed from 0xff2 to 0xfff.
Kext kernel-space log filter changed from 0xff2 to 0xfff.

And my 48TB RAID5 SoftRAID array just mounted on my MacBook Air M1 Big Sur 11.3 public beta 3 :)
Anything you want me to check to see whether specific functions are working solidly?
We are researching still. the driver is loading for most everyone.
We want to make sure we can "fix" users that are not working, before we announce, but users should go ahead and update to beta 3.
Thanks for the heads-up. My drive has been indexing since I first mounted it, and will probably continue to do so for a while.
I won't be doing any mission-critical work with it for a bit, so I'm patiently waiting to see how it pans out.
Here to help/test if you need anything specific.
I've just downloaded and installed the new beta (SoftRAID 6.0.1 b53), updated the disk driver, restarted my Mac, everything looks good - can I now just drag the previous beta folder from Applications into the Bin?
