@softraid-support Yes, I understand certifying will erase the disk. I transitioned to an external boot drive 2 weeks ago. I unmounted the Data volume, and SoftRAID is now certifying.

SoftRAID has successfully certified the disk, no errors. Disk Utility has initialized the 2 TB volume. Is it possible to recreate the Fusion drive since the 2 TB has a clean bill of health, or no? 😎

@rudimovie

Can I assume that the 2TB is not "predicted to fail", with reallocated sectors?

then yes, recreate the fusion drive volume!

@softraid-support Correct. The "predicted to fail" notices are GONE, and the SoftRAID toolbar icon stays blue. There is a yellow question mark (see pix) which I presume means that it is looking for the fusion drive.

As far as recreating the fusion drive, it looks as if I can do that within SoftRAID, correct?

@rudimovie

You must create the fusion drive within Disk Utility. I don't think you can create Fusion drives with the new OS's, so stick with the OS you are using. If you get stuck, try the instructions here:

@softraid-support Here is a more recent page from 2020 that is much simpler that I will try: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207584
