Can I create a volume with SoftRAID and then move the drive to a different computer?

I want to create the RAID volume on one computer, copy a large number of files and then move the RAID drive to a different computer.

Do I need to have SoftRAID installed on each computer?

Thanks

Yes, there is no information on a set of drives specific to the computer it was created on, SoftRAID volumes are self contained.

Your volume will mount on any Mac (m1 requires 13.3 or later)

However if this is long term, you need to install SoftRAID so you get error reporting, can manage your disks, etc.

@gameoveraus

I confirmed with engineering. There is absolutely no difference what order (in slots) the disks are in when you move them inside enclosures or to there enclosures or slots. What was the actual issue you saw?
