Is SoftRAID LITE / XT compatible with CalDigit T4 Thunderbolt 2 RAID enclosure?

I have a CalDigit T4 RAID enclosure for Mac. Unfortunately, it's software is no longer updated and not compatible with Apple M1 Macs. So, I am looking for another software RAID solution for it on Mac/Windows platforms. I am using T4 in RAID 0 configuration. Is SoftRAID Lite / XT compatible with it?

From my understanding, your enclosure is obsolete with ARM computers. The CalDigit uses a hybrid software / hardware method for RAID and last time I investigated, they were unable to port that technology to ARM computers. Since it is not a "pure" hardware RAID, the enclosure cannot be put into JBOD mode, so it will not work in macOS on Apple Silicon computers.

If you can put the enclosure into "JBOD" Mode, yes SoftRAID Lite will support it.

@softraid-support Thank you for a quick reply! I will do some tests with it when I get my hands on my partner's M1 Macbook Pro. If it doesn't work, I will get an OWC Thunderbay 4 mini or similar and transfer my four SSDs to it. Sad to see that CalDigit isn't continuing T4 RAID's support.

@jtompuri

If the disks show up in SoftRAID, then macOS is showing the disks.

CalDigit should have been able to update this, but it is hard work. I saw several months ago, they were discontinuing this line completely and were not supporting ARM, so unless they changed their mind, its unlikely it is going to ever work on ARM.
