Suppose I have a SoftRAID array in an external drive enclosure and then my computer crashes or I simply switch computers.

Can I move my RAID array from one computer to another?

Can I do this Mac to Mac, PC to PC, or MacPC ?

Is the data about my RAID array stored on the drives or is it stored on the boot drive of my computer?

Yes you can move it to any Mac. The data is all on the RAID. However, it cannot mount in windows, we do not have a windows driver.

Hello
If the disks are inside a computer and not in an external box, is it also possible to move them to a new computer without installing SoftRAID?

Best

You need to install SoftRAID so you can manage the volume, report problems, rebuild, etc, but if you just connect them to another computer, they will mount, as we license a simplified driver to Apple for every OS X installation.
