Does a list exist of SoftRaid Pro compatible or incompatible enclosures? Specifically, looking for info wrt DROBO 5D and/or 5N2.

SoftRAID Pro supports any reliable direct attached drives. The Drobo is a hardware RAID enclosure. I am not sure if it has a "JBOD" mode, however. (where SoftRAID can see the individual disks). If it does, then you can use it with SoftRAID, as long as this is a direct connect (thunderbolt or USB) device, not ethernet.
We have users with other hardware RAID enclusres who use SoftRAID to manage their disks, after setting the enclosure into JBOD mode.

there is a 14 day trial, so you can test this out.

@softraid-support Thanks. I've looked around; DROBO wasn't a huge market but, I expected at least some migration content. I must have missed it - where 🧐 ?  Anything problematic with Pro playing with firmware RAID? Specifically DROBO? Seems intuitively problematic with a DROBO 😤 .

@skyward

If you set your Drobo in "JBOD" mode and launch SoftRAID, you will see each disk connected independently. If the Drobo is still in hardware RAID mode, you will only see one device in the disks column.

"officially" anyway, looks like DROBO's can't JBOB. Their last sw release supports Monterey. If you learn of any way to to use a 5n2 with current OSx 's please let me know. Would be appreciated.

@skyward If they cannot be put into JBOD mode, then SoftRAID can not manage the disks, unfortunately, as they are effectively hidden from the Operating System.
