Hello,
I have an OWC Thunderbay unit with 4 disks using SoftRAID.
I also have:
- 1 unit of OWC dual dock Thunderbolt 2/USB3
- 2 units of a single USB3 dock.
In case of a unit failure of the Thunderbay I can put the 4 disks into the OWC dual dock (using the USB3 connection) and into the USB3 dock units and access my data. Correct?
But If my OWC dual dock didn't have a USB3 connection, only Thunderbolt, will be any problems trying to mount my RAID volumes mixing Thunderbolt 2 with USB3?
Thanks.
SoftRAID does not care what the enclosure is, drives can be moved anywhere.
the only issue is if moving to a non OWC enclosure, things like rebuilds, notifications, etc, will not work, as the XT versions only work in OWC enclosures, SoftRAID XT can not manage drives in docks, even OWC docks at this time.

Thats a new information!
I'm glad that I went with the full version.
Thank's!
