Before buying this enclosure I specifically asked OWC
if Samsung 970 Pro NvMe M2 would work ( those are not the cheapest SSD sticks )
Before connecting - there is a sticker on the cable socket ( not to be used )
Use with SoftRaid for best performance.
( i'm old Apple Raid user )
So yes - I install SOftRaid XT
( leaflet says SoftRaid - but lite version rejects enclosed code)

I initialize four 500 GB sticks ( 3 are directly / unformatted - I format one beforehand in AFPS just to test if the enclosure recognise it ) and create Striped ( RAID 0 ) volume
with 2 partitions 1 TB each .
All is good to start with - initially very good performance measured
(around 2000 MB / s ) ( empty )

Unfortunately - after first tries to copy stuff from my original disk
I get i/o error dialog from SoftRaid -
It says Disk 3 is failing.

After a verification process from SR - I get I/o errors on 2 disks now -
But the numbers of the disks are changed . ( like 5,6,7 )

After restart I get a finder Disk error as well.

Thank You for any suggestions .

2017 Imac / high Sierra -

OWC Express 4 M2 connected with T3 cable ( I have another T3 external drive in the chain - but Express comes first )
I cannot attach original
d.supt document created directly after problems occur - as it was exceeding 1MB limit.
So i made another document - this time it is under 1 MB but the forum tool says it is invalid type of attachment.

Try to "certify" the SSD's. 3 passes. You can do all 4 at once. Do they pass certify?

The "failure" message is because the SSD hung and generated an error. SoftRAID generally considers any disk error a potential failure. Reliability should be 100%.

Let us know if you can certify the disks. (Certify does not use the SoftRAID driver)

Send the support file to support at SoftRAID dot com.

You cannot attach such files to the forum

BTW: Disk numbers in OS X are relatively random and will change frequently.
