Does it make sense to certify new NVMe sticks in SoftRAID before using them ? Does it affect the drive longevity ?
I couldn't find anything about this subject in SoftRAID help.

I do recommend it and it does not significantly affect their long term lifespan. This is effectively 3 writes over the surface.
Its worth knowing you have realiable media for your volume
